About the Role

Zarzaur & Schwartz, PC, a leading full-service creditors' rights law firm in Birmingham, AL, is hiring a Litigation Attorney to join our growing team. You'll manage a high-volume litigation caseload from filing through resolution, working closely with courts, opposing counsel, and clients. We look for attorneys who are diligent, accountable, and comfortable owning cases independently while collaborating with firm leadership.

What You'll Do

Manage an assigned caseload of litigation matters filed with courts in states where you're licensed
Appear in court for trials, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
Negotiate and communicate directly with opposing attorneys and defendants
Draft pleadings and respond to legal filings as needed
Review and approve firm pleadings in your licensed state(s)
Review new case placements and approve initial client/legal correspondence
Resolve case status inquiries and escalate issues as needed
Stay current on federal and state legal requirements relevant to your practice

What You'll Need

Active law license in Alabama (required)
Minimum 2 years of litigation experience
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)
Ability to manage a high volume of cases independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel occasionally for court appearances

Preferred

Experience in collections/recoveries
High-volume litigation firm experience
