Procurement SpecialistLocation: Houston, TXContract Duration: 12 MonthsPay Rate: $29.00/hr on W2Role OverviewAs a Project Buyer Expeditor, you will drive day-to-day procurement operations to ensure project targets and schedules are met. This role focuses on the tactical execution of purchase order schedules for materials supporting the New Unit Gas Turbine Business. Working closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners, you will resolve daily supply chain challenges, optimize delivery schedules, and maintain full transparency to support project success.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase Order Management: Manage a dedicated work queue, ensure purchase orders are issued on time, and track execution through completion.Supplier Coordination: Oversee a portfolio of suppliers, follow up on order confirmations, monitor quality compliance, negotiate price increase requests, and resolve invoicing/payment issues.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global/local project management, material requirements planning (MRP), and logistics teams to align on schedules, planning, and transportation/customs requirements.Process Compliance & Systems: Implement and follow globally defined procurement guidelines and tools (e.g., compliant Purchase-to-Pay processes, IT systems, and online contract management tools).Supplier Management: Support supplier qualification, evaluation, classification, and development initiatives.Tracking & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation, monitor procurement tracking lists, and deliver weekly schedule progress reports.Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 3+ years of direct procurement experience in a fast-paced environment.Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with SAP transactions and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Operational Capabilities: Proven ability to work in complex, fast-changing global environments and manage tight deadlines independently or as part of a team.Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with strong collaboration, influence, and problem-solving abilities.
