This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the evolving energy production landscape.RRC CORE VALUESMust understand and personify RRC’s core values:Client Satisfaction – understands the goal of always exceeding our client’s expectationsEmployee Happiness – able to work well with others, communicate clearly with coworkers, promote a positive work environment, and mediate conflicts between team membersQuality Work - able to take ownership, work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbove and Beyond - versatile, flexible, able to anticipate the needs of the company, take the initiative, and willing to go out of your way to assist othersESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead the design and development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including DC systems, medium voltage infrastructure, switchgear, and distribution systemsPerform and oversee system studies, including load flow, short circuit, ampacity, and loss analysisManage and coordinate engineering tasks across multiple projects, ensuring that projects are within scope, schedule, and budgetServe as a point of contact for clients, interpreting needs and delivering engineering solutionsReview and approve manufacturer equipment drawings and technical submittalsEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, QA/QC procedures, and project specificationsPerform quality control and quality checking on project deliverables, including drawings and studiesIdentify design risks and implement corrective actionsCoordinate with project managers, BESS leadership, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project deliveryContribute to the development and refinement of engineering standards and best practicesWork with team on changing trends in technologyMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related fieldMaster’s Degree in Engineering with a renewable energy focus preferred5+ years of experience in BESS, renewable energy, distribution, or medium voltage power systemsProfessional Engineer (P. Eng) license or ability to obtainExperience designing medium and low voltage cabling systemsKnowledge of switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, breakers, and protection systemsExperience with battery container systems, EMS and BMSExperience designing inverter / PCS (Power Conversion System) equipmentStrong familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards (IEEE, NESC, NEC, NFPA)Experience performing system studies using software such as CYME, ETAP, or similarExperience with modeling tools such as HOMER, Energy Toolbase, ESWare, or similarExperience with solar (PV) and wind systems preferredConstruction or field experience preferredExperience with BESS interconnections to transmission, distribution, substations, and renewable generation facilities preferredBENEFITSRRC is committed to investing in talented employees because we recognize that healthy, happy employees provide the best path to sustaining a successful business.
