Inventory Control Specialist

Reports To: CET & Fulfillment Manager Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 Classification: Salary Exempt Position Summary TheSeniorInventory & Fulfillment Specialist owns inventory planning, replenishment, and fulfillment execution across all sales channels, including Amazon (FBA/FBM), Walmart WFS, Shopify, retail distribution, and secondary marketplaces. This role ensures products remain in stock, inventory is allocated effectively across channels, and fulfillment operations run smoothly from warehouse to customer. Acting as the primary operational liaison for marketplace partners and internal stakeholders, the Lead Inventory & Fulfillment Specialist identifies inventory risks, drives replenishment planning, and provides visibility into inventory performance and revenue impact. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing inventory and fulfillment within a fast-paced ecommerce and omnichannel environment. Inventory Management & Replenishment Monitor inventory levels across Amazon FBA, Walmart WFS, Shopify, Amazon FBM, secondary marketplaces, and retail distribution channels. Create and manage inbound replenishment plans for Amazon FBA and Walmart WFS in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Track inbound shipments, expected receipt dates, and inventory transfers to ensure timely replenishment and prevent stockouts. Analyze inventory velocity, days of supply, sell‑through rates, and lead times to optimize inventory allocation across channels. Identify and communicate low‑stock and out‑of‑stock risks, including potential revenue impact and recommended actions. Partner with Operations, Production Planning, and Growth teams to align inventory strategy with forecasted demand. Marketplace Fulfillment Operations Own day‑to‑day fulfillment operations across Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and secondary marketplace channels. Manage Seller Central, Walmart Seller Center, and related fulfillment platforms. Coordinate warehouse execution of FBM, DTC, and marketplace orders to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment. Monitor inventory health metrics, shipment performance, compliance requirements, and account health indicators. Escalate operational issues and hold external marketplace partners accountable to agreed‑upon service levels. Ensure all marketplace shipments meet labeling, packaging, documentation, and compliance requirements. Retail & Distribution Operations Coordinate order execution, pallet builds, shipment scheduling, and delivery requirements with warehouse teams. Verify EDI transactions and troubleshoot order flow issues as needed. Partner with Sales and Operations teams to ensure inventory availability for customer purchase orders. Support retail and distributor fulfillment needs during peak periods and promotional events. Reporting & Process Improvement Maintain reporting and dashboards related to inventory health, in‑stock rates, fulfillment performance, inventory turns, and channel performance. Monitor marketplace reporting tools and internal systems to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide regular visibility into inventory status and operational performance to leadership. Identify and implement process improvements that increase inventory accuracy, improve replenishment efficiency, and reduce stockouts. Support onboarding of new marketplace and retail channels by establishing inventory and fulfillment workflows. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Experience 4–6 years of experience in inventory management, fulfillment operations, supply chain coordination, or ecommerce operations within a CPG, ecommerce, or omnichannel environment. Hands‑on experience managing Amazon Seller Central, FBA replenishment, inbound shipments, and inventory health. Experience with Walmart WFS fulfillment and Seller Center operations. Experience managing Shopify fulfillment and inventory synchronization across multiple channels. Familiarity with secondary marketplaces. Experience supporting retail distribution through brokers, or direct‑to‑retailer programs. Experience with EDI platforms and transaction management. Experience working with ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory planning tools. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions and strong attention to detail. Advanced Excel proficiency for reporting and data analysis. Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Effective communicator capable of presenting inventory risks, operational challenges, and recommendations to cross‑functional teams. Self‑starter with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to independently drive solutions. Collaborative team player who confidently contributes data‑driven recommendations and challenges assumptions when appropriate.
