Intern (m/f/d) Agentic Robot Framework at Agile Robots.

About the role The AI Research and Development Group at Agile Robots is seeking an intern to help build an agentic planning system for robotic manipulation. You will work with LLMs and VLMs to help robots reason through and execute complex, multi-step tasks in both simulated and physical environments.

What you'll do

• Develop the architecture for an agentic planning framework capable of handling long-horizon manipulation tasks.
• Implement strategies for multi-agent collaboration using VLMs and LLMs for sequencing and task planning.
• Research structured task representations for intricate, multi-step manipulation workflows.
• Create closed-loop monitoring and autonomous recovery systems to ensure stability during extended operations.
• Run experiments on physical and simulated robots and contribute as a co-author to academic research papers.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master or PhD program focused on AI, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience deploying or building agentic systems that utilize LLMs or VLMs for reasoning or task execution.
• Strong Python programming skills for robotics and AI development.
• Understanding of robot control or task planning and how logic translates to physical movement.
• Ability to document research findings and write clearly in English for academic publication.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS or ROS2 and robot simulation software.
• Knowledge of robot learning techniques, including sequence modeling or imitation learning.
• Previous experience contributing to or co-authoring academic research.
