Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical tele unit patients, including monitoring of tubes, drains, and wound care
- Perform accurate and timely assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
- Monitor telemetry, vital signs, and patient status; respond to alarms and escalating concerns promptly
- Administer prescribed medications, manage IV therapy, and ensure safe medication administration practices
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to implement and adjust care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (state of Iowa) or eligibility to practice
- Ability to work nights and participate in a weekend rotation per unit schedule
- Experience in a medical-surgical and telemetry-capable setting preferred
- Ability to perform duties in a hospital environment and adhere to clinical policies
- Strong assessment, communication, and patient advocacy skills
