Registered Nurse Telemetry

Position Overview Registered Nurse (RN) – 5W Medical Telemetry Night Shift (Hours: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.). Weekend & holiday shifts per department guidelines. Located in Wilmington, DE. The 5W Medical Telemetry Unit at ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital is a 28‑bed unit that provides adult and geriatric inpatient and observational care around the clock. The unit serves patients requiring medical‑surgical nursing care and routine testing. Scope of Services Responsibilities include caring for patients with diagnoses such as stroke, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, cellulitis, substance use disorders, and psychiatric conditions. Self‑reported patient condition ranges from fair to guarded. Admit, transfer, and accept patients from the Emergency Department, Step‑Down Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and community/provider offices. Staffing & Responsibilities 5:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio; RNs and PCTs on the floor. Charge nurse performs daily staffing decisions based on acuity and qualifications. Must promote a family and team atmosphere. Cross‑train to 4N Medical Step‑down. 8–12‑week orientation; residency for new graduates. Qualifications Delaware RN License or Compact Nursing License. BSN preferred or mandatory to obtain BSN within 3 years of hire date. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Med‑Surg unit. BLS required. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 – $66.05.
