Senior Tableau Developer

Salary: $60,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, data visualization, and data analysis.
• At least 3 years of experience developing enterprise-grade solutions with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or Cloud.
• Expert knowledge of Tableau features, including calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters, advanced actions, and dashboard extensions.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and data preparation tools such as Tableau Prep or Alteryx.
• Experience administering MariaDB/MySQL or PostgreSQL databases and building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience creating reports and dashboards in Tableau or another BI tool, such as Power BI, Looker, or QuickSight, and connecting BI tools to warehouse and relational data sources.
• Working knowledge of columnar file formats such as Parquet and ORC, and data lake architecture.
• Python scripting experience for data processing and automation.
• Preferred: experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka, Kinesis, or MSK; AWS DMS and CDC replication patterns; advanced Tableau or equivalent BI-platform capabilities; data tokenization, masking, and encryption; fintech, payment processing, or healthcare data environments; and SOC 2 data-handling and governance.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, publish, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards, scorecards, reports, and other BI solutions for business intelligence, transaction reconciliation, and regulatory or client reporting.
• Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, data models, reporting layers, curated datasets, and data preparation flows to support accurate, high-performing analytics.
• Configure reporting data sources, views, row-level security, and extract schedules or live connections across relevant systems.
• Administer and support Tableau Server or Cloud and BI-tool connectivity to platforms including Redshift, Athena, and MariaDB; manage permissions, security, refreshes, and performance.
• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, data engineers, finance, reporting, and client teams to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver maintainable reporting solutions.
• Establish visualization standards, style guides, design patterns, and governance practices, and mentor junior developers, analysts, and business users through technical guidance and code reviews.
• Conduct quality assurance and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy, consistent metrics, and reliable integration across enterprise platforms.
• Manage database replication, backups, recovery, performance tuning, schema changes, indexes, database health, storage, and connections.
• Implement database and reporting access controls, audit logging, encryption, and other safeguards for sensitive CDE data.
• Support PCI-DSS and SOC 2-aligned data governance, including retention, access logging, encryption, tokenization, audit trails, and least-privilege access reviews.
• Manage S3 data lake lifecycle policies and maintain documentation of CDE data flows, lineage, and cardholder data inventories for audits and compliance.
