Responsible for leading the packaging staff with packaging, labeling and operation of machines.

Essential Position Functions and Duties

• Train, monitor and lead all packaging staff on examining, assembling, labeling, packaging products and all other duties required.
• Train, monitor and lead machine operators to ensure products meet specifications. Adjust machine as needed.
• Train, monitor and lead forklift driver, palletizer and other packaging area staff.
• Review production schedule and lead staff to meet schedule deadlines.
• Assign staff to positions. Reassign as needed.
• Ensure all staff are following safety rules, GMP’s and all other company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance.
• Ensure all written documents are completed within the deadline
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. Minimum 1 yr of work experience.
3. Knowledge: basic mathematics-addition, subtraction, multiplication
4. Skills: Communication skills verbal and written, reading comprehension, active listening, problem solving, coordination, service orientation, multitasking, teamplayer, leadership qualities, independent, detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. 2 years of work experience preferably in a food manufacturing company; previous lead work experience a plus.
3. Knowledge: basic mathematics-addition, subtraction, multiplication
4. English Language (Speaking/Listening/Writing) ;
5. Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, reading comprehension, active listening, problem solving, coordination, service orientation, multitasking, team player, strong leadership qualities, independent, detail oriented

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Expected Working Hours

This is a full-time position and basic hours of work: 3:30 pm until closing; days are Monday through Friday and weekends.

Work Environment

This job operates in a food production environment where raw materials are put through a process to produce a finished good that is suitable for consumption. This role is routinely surrounded by machinery, temperature fluctuation, continuous noise and smells.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, walk, hear or stand. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Also on occasion may be required to push, pull, grasp, reach, stoop, squat, kneel, climb.
