Makeready is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing collection of hotels, restaurants, retail, and home office functions. This is a temporary contract position that is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong accounting controls, supporting month-end close, and partnering with property and corporate leaders to provide timely and meaningful financial information. Requested Tasks Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure outstanding items are researched and resolved timely. Review general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reporting packages. Analyze financial results, identify trends, and explain variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods. Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for all assigned accounts. Provide accounting support and guidance to property leaders as needed. Assist with intercompany transactions, allocations, and reconciliations. Support cash management processes, including bank reconciliations and cash reporting. Assist with reviewing property-level accounting activity to ensure compliance with Makeready standards Assist with audit preparation, including gathering documentation and responding to audit requests. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records. Support tax, licensing, and regulatory reporting needs as assigned. Champion Makeready’s Guiding Principles in all aspects of your work. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred. Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, real estate, or multi-unit accounting experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Experience with accounting systems and financial reporting tools required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office products. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both finance and operational leaders.
