Radiology Technologist III Wesley Chapel

Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks. Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed. Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff. Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards. Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner. Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information. Enters and accesses patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), updating procedure status and billing. Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds. Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Fluent in the English language [Required]

Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required]

Effective communication skills [Required]

Supervisory/Leadership, OR, ED & digital radiology experience [Required]

Leadership skills [Preferred]

Ability to learn and use radiology software packages [Required]

Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]

Responsible to maintain all required facility continuing and annual education [Required]

Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff [Required]

Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiologic Procedures/Positions [Required]

Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]

Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment [Required]

Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation [Required]

Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]

Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]

Education:

Associate [Preferred]

High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

1+ years of experience [Preferred]
