Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL (onsite) will design, deploy, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and maintenance pipelines to support enterprise data needs across cloud and on-prem environments, with a focus on automation and self-service improvements. Responsibilities Design and deploy Snowflake-driven data solutions aligned with business requirements and industry best practices Perform data analysis, create data models, reverse engineer data structures, and optimize performance Collaborate with fellow data engineers to design and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines using Matillion and Snowflake native features Create, enhance, and deploy data pipelines to support data warehouses and data marts Construct the infrastructure needed for efficient extract, transform, and load of data from diverse sources using AWS and related database technologies Stay up to date with AI technologies and best practices, emphasizing Snowflake AI capabilities and platform advancements to bolster AI-enabled data solutions Document technical specifications, data models, process flows, standards, processes, and procedures Identify and implement internal process improvements, including redesigning infrastructure for scalability, improving data delivery, and automating manual tasks Mentor data engineering team members on advanced concepts and practices Define comprehensive data processing strategies to ensure optimal outcomes Provide on-call production support on a rotating basis, monitoring and resolving issues across data engineering services Establish design, testing, documentation, and implementation standards in line with HIPPA and related patient data policies, and ensure systems comply Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum 8 years of experience delivering data engineering initiatives Minimum 3 years of cloud experience, with AWS preferred Minimum 3 years collaborating with cross-functional teams to derive requirements and architect data models and shared datasets Technologies Snowflake Matillion AWS Apache NiFi Informatica SSIS Spark Kafka Airflow Git Subversion Jenkins Maven Python
