Health And Safety Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS/HSE) programs. This position will have a strong focus on auditing HSE management systems, maintaining ISO compliance, identifying system gaps, and driving corrective and preventive actions across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 50001 , along with a strong understanding of internal and external audit processes, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead and coordinate internal, external, and compliance audits of HSE management systems.
\n
• Plan, conduct, document, and follow up on audits related to ISO 14001 Environmental Management, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety, and ISO 50001 Energy Management systems.
\n
• Evaluate HSE processes, procedures, documentation, and operational controls for compliance and effectiveness.
\n
• Identify nonconformities, observations, risks, and opportunities for improvement through systematic auditing.
\n
• Develop and track corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans through successful resolution and verification of effectiveness.
\n
• Maintain audit schedules, checklists, findings, corrective-action records, and management-system documentation.
\n
• Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and other departments to address audit findings and strengthen HSE performance.
\n
• Monitor changes in applicable environmental, health, safety, and energy regulations and standards and ensure management systems remain compliant.
\n
• Support management reviews by providing audit results, compliance trends, performance metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
\n
• Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and compliance evaluations.
\n
• Establish and monitor HSE performance indicators and identify trends requiring corrective action.
\n
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce workplace risk, environmental impact, energy consumption, and compliance exposure.
\n
• Provide HSE training and awareness programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
\n
• Maintain accurate HSE records, procedures, permits, audit documentation, and regulatory reporting.
\n
• Serve as a key resource during certification audits and surveillance audits , coordinating responses and ensuring timely closure of findings.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field ; equivalent experience may be considered.
\n
• 5+ years of progressive HSE/EHS experience , preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
\n
• Demonstrated experience conducting or managing HSE management-system audits .
\n
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 50001 .
\n
• Knowledge of applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
\n
• Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, risk assessment, and continuous improvement methodologies .
\n
• Strong documentation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification/training.
\n
• Experience supporting ISO certification and recertification audits .
\n
• CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH, or other relevant professional certification.
\n
• Experience with integrated EHS management systems .
\n
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
\n
• Experience with HSE software, audit-management systems, and data analytics.
\n
