Hybrid Work Arrangement This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 2-3 days per week in the office, with additional in‑office time as business needs require. During the initial 6‑month probationary period, this role will be fully in‑office. Key Responsibilities As a key contact for the Assessor‑Treasurer’s Office, you help community members understand property taxes and navigate services. You answer questions about payments, adjustments, refunds, appraisals, and property tax reduction applications, ensuring compliance with Washington State law. Your work includes reviewing forms and applications for completeness, entering data, performing routine calculations, and following established guidelines and procedures. Core Daily Responsibilities Review and process routine property‑related forms, applications, and records following established procedures and guidelines, including RCWs, WACs, and County ordinances relevant to Assessor‑Treasurer Office services. Perform routine calculations and update property values and taxes, including adjustments, recalculations, back taxes, refunds, depreciation costs, and supplemental assessments. Assist in determining eligibility for various tax programs or exemptions, or appeals by following established guidelines, and explain decisions to taxpayers. Respond to inquiries from the public and stakeholders, providing accurate information and guidance on property tax matters. Meet the travel and/or vehicle operation requirements of the position. Qualifications Two (2) years of experience in clerical, cashiering, and/or regulatory services, including at least one (1) year of customer service. Additional education or experience that clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of this position may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
