Bartender - Bar Relief

Job TitleSpecific Job Functions:Acknowledge every guest with a prompt and friendly greetingGreet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail orderPrepare, garnish and serve cocktails to customers following hotel guidelinesClean and organize bar to beverage department standardsPrepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levelsProvide exceptional service to customers while maintaining high standards of serviceFollow departmental cash handling policies and proceduresPrepare cocktails for food server, cocktail server, Gilley Girl & GuestsMaintain bar cleanliness to beverage and health department standards, ensuring correct health and sanitation practices are followedWork station must be maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shiftEnsure the correct glassware/stemware is used according to Beverage Department and Gilley's standardsTake food order & service guest dining at the barGreet each guest with a smilePolish glasswareWine and champagne serviceHandle cash, credit cards and room charges in accordance with departmental policiesAssist new employees with training and answering questionsCheck IDs if the guest appears to be under 30React to the needs of management for special host requestsBe ethical and professional at all timesCommunicate with Management to keep them informed of all special requests from a guest and any problems or concernsAnswer telephone using proper telephone etiquette standardsPerform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the departmentQualifications:Minimum one year bartending experience in a high volume hotel / restaurant experience requiredUnion Crafts (Pour) Card requiredMust have an excellent upbeat attitude with the ability to interact with people of diverse backgroundsPleasing personality and ability to communicate with customersCommunicate effectively in English both verbally and written formsKnowledge of ABC lawsProfessional appearance and demeanor a mustThe ability to perform tasks that requires standing and/or moving at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longerKnowledge of wine and champagne serviceHigh School Diploma is requiredEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
