Sanitation Technician:  Lena, Illinois

Our customer in Lena, Illinois, is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Sanitation Technician to work full-time on 2nd shift. In this role, you will support sanitation and production operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant food manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for permanent placement.

 

Responsibilities of the Sanitation Technician:

• Perform sanitation and cleaning of equipment, production areas, and workspaces in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Support sanitation operations during scheduled sanitation shifts, including evening sanitation as needed.
• Work on the packaging line when sanitation coverage is not required.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety procedures.
• Use required personal protective equipment including steel-toed shoes, hair/beard nets, lab coats, and hearing protection.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and sanitation needs.

 

Sanitation Technician Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, noise, vibration, and humid conditions.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift more than 30 lbs. frequently and more than 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional Saturdays as needed.

 

Pay for Sanitation Technician: $22.50/hour.
