Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and organized Fleet Manager with some Automotive Technician experience to oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of our fleet vehicles. This role combines hands-on automotive repair with fleet management responsibilities, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the company fleet.
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gasoline and diesel vehicles.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate service, repair, and inspection records.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, registrations, and licensing.
- Monitor fleet performance, fuel usage, and maintenance costs.
- Order and manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors, repair shops, and suppliers when necessary.
- Respond to emergency roadside repairs and vehicle breakdowns.
- Train drivers on proper vehicle operation and maintenance reporting.
- Prepare maintenance reports and fleet performance metrics for management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology preferred.
- Previous fleet management experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred if applicable).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with fleet management software and maintenance tracking systems.
- Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.
