Staff Accountant

About the Role Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting & Consolidations, the Staff Accountant, General & International Accounting is responsible for fixed asset, payroll, property tax, prepaid expense, accrual, foreign exchange and equity investment accounting for Mitsubishi Power Aero and financial consolidation and reporting for its five international affiliates in conjunction with supporting various requirements for the financial close. The position is in-office at our Glastonbury, CT location. Responsibilities Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries Monitor and analyze the payroll fringe rate; calculate quarterly true-ups Monitor and analyze selling, general and administrative expenses Prepare monthly account reconciliations Collect data and prepare reports to fulfill quarterly corporate reporting requirements Administer the fixed assets program from capital appropriation process through acquisition and periodic confirmation and verification Translate and record international affiliate financial statements from local currency to USD in accordance with U.S. GAAP Consolidate international affiliate financial statements by determining and recording intercompany transactions and associated eliminations Prepare and present international entity financial statements to senior management, including associated variance analysis Conduct the annual J‑SOX business control requirements reporting process Support external and internal audit Serve as back‑up for accounts payable and vendor verification Implement process improvements as needed Execute ad hoc projects as required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Accounting required 3‑5 years of experience as a staff accountant preferred Audit experience and CPA a plus Required Skills Self‑starter with strong interpersonal, relationship‑building and problem‑solving skills Ability to research and resolve technical accounting issues SAP, Timberline, OneStream and Blackline experience a plus Preferred Skills Experience with international accounting practices Familiarity with financial consolidation processes #J-18808-Ljbffr Mitsubishi Power Aero
