Job Summary

Leads the systems analysis, design, development, and delivery of complex software solutions with a focus on IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Enterprise Asset Management software. Serves as a senior technical leader and escalation point for assigned systems, providing resolutions to problems and recommendations for continual improvement. Partners cross-functionally with Project Managers, Software Engineers, Business System Analysts, and IT service owners, to translate requirements, update development statuses, and improve solutions. Provide daily technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle including system integration, enhancements, testing, maintenance, and support.

Essential Functions

• Lead software design and development, organize clear requirements, documented methodology, and unit testing to meet business needs.
• Analyze business processes and develop end-to-end Maximo solution designs, including functional architecture and configuration standards to meet industry standard asset management processes.
• Support linear asset management and rail inspection programs.
• Enable planning and execution of maintenance outages and asset possession activities. 
• Implement defect tracking, condition assessment, and asset performance monitoring processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenanced teams to improve safety, reliability and service availability
• Support compliance with rail industry regulations and maintenance standards.
• Serve as Maximo Functional lead supporting infrastructure asset (track and right-of-way assets, rail signal and communication systems, stations and structures, electric traction and infrastructure, and rolling assets).
• Managing Maximo Functional Configuration;
  • (Asset Management, Maximo Spatial-integration with ArcGIS, Work Management, Preventative Maintenance, Inventory Management, Procurement and Contracts, Service Requests, Labor and Crew Management and Inspections and Condition Monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. 
• Plus 9 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with IBM Maximo or other Enterprise Asset Management functional and technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Principles.
• Experience with Maximo configuration, workflows, security, escalations and integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
• Plus 11 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS 8+)
• Knowledge of Linear Asset Management and Spatial/GIS solutions.
• Experience with rail agencies, transit authorities, electric, gas, water or wastewater utilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent documentation and communication skills, including articulating complex architectures effectively.
• Knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and asset lifecycle management practices. 
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing environments.
• Ability to mentor and lead junior developers and test engineers.

The salary/hourly range is $149,400.00 – $193,644.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
