Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Position Summary We’re looking for a sharp, analytical Estimator (In-Office) with experience in sheet metal ductwork and commercial HVAC to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive bids by analyzing drawings, specs, and scopes of work. This position is fully in-office , with minimal travel and high impact—you’ll help us win the right jobs, at the right price, with the right plan. Key Responsibilities Review architectural and mechanical drawings, specs, and bid documents to determine project scope Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for ductwork, HVAC systems, and related materials Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors; evaluate and compare quotes Develop labor and material cost estimates based on project requirements Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accuracy and constructability Prepare complete bid proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for negotiated and hard‑bid projects Participate in bid reviews and handoff meetings Maintain organized bid tracking logs and historical cost data Communicate clearly with general contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Stay current on market conditions, labor rates, and material pricing trends Requirements 2+ years of experience estimating HVAC or sheet metal ductwork projects (commercial preferred) Strong knowledge of construction documents and mechanical systems Detail-oriented with strong math and analytical skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Strong communication and time-management skills Preferred Skills Experience with Procore , Bluebeam, or estimating software (like FastDUCT, QuoteSoft, EST MEP or Trimble) Familiarity with local subcontractor market and pricing Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred What We Offer Medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance options 401(k) with company match Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Financial wellness resources Paid holidays and PTO A no-nonsense, team-first work environment that values accuracy, speed, and quality Opportunities to grow with a company that’s building big and building smart Mason Road Sheet Metal, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
