Job Description

Maintenance Mechanic

Pay: $35/hour
Location: Roanoke, VA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Diagnose equipment failures and make timely repairs to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow established safety procedures
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvements
Respond to emergency maintenance issues as needed
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred
Journeyman Electrician level (or at least 5 years experience in that field in lieu of certification
5+ years experience in an industrial maintenance role or heavy equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting equipment
Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, conveyors, pumps, and PLCs (preferred)
Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
