Seed Conditioning Tower Operator

Location: Bloomington, IL • Schedule: Full-time, second shift • Openings: 2

Compensation: $19–$20/hour + 15–17% profit-sharing bonus (paid in December and August), overtime available during peak season, and full benefits

You clock in for second shift and bring the conditioning tower online. Screens are set, treaters are dialed, and you manage the flow of corn, soybean, and wheat seed through cleaning, sizing, treating, and packaging so every order meets customer specs. You keep upstream feeding downstream, watch quality indicators, and keep the line running with minimal downtime.

You coordinate the conditioning crew on the floor — providing daily direction without a desk or a manager title. Between runs, you lead thorough cleanouts to protect product integrity, complete conditioning records with precision, and verify that every unit meets quality standards. You proactively implement Remington’s QMS in your area, reinforce safety programs, and suggest improvements that make the process safer and faster.

On some shifts you’ll hop on a forklift to stage materials or move finished product. During the preseason, you roll up your sleeves for preventative maintenance so the conditioning season runs smoothly.

• Operate the conditioning tower to minimize downtime and maximize throughput
• Control seed flow through cleaning, sizing, treating, and packaging to meet specifications
• Provide daily supervision of teammates working within conditioning processes
• Protect product integrity with thorough cleanouts and careful transfers into the tower
• Implement Remington’s QMS and uphold a safe work environment with company safety programs
• Identify and recommend safety and process improvements
• Accurately complete all conditioning records and documentation
• Perform preseason maintenance to reduce in-season downtime
• Operate forklifts as needed and conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area

• Hands-on production experience (operator/line worker or similar) — food manufacturing, packaging, grain handling, feed milling, or fertilizer processing translate well
• Clear communication and natural leadership — the person others turn to when something needs figuring out
• Ability to repeatedly lift 30–75 lb bags and remain on your feet throughout the shift
• Forklift experience or willingness to get certified
• Mechanical aptitude for preseason equipment maintenance
• Reliable attendance and a stable, long-tenured work history

• September–March: Conditioning and shipping season — high volume, fast pace, real urgency, and overtime available
• March–September: A slower stretch focused on organizing the warehouse and preparing for next season

You’ll work on your feet in a dusty environment with seed and pollen exposure. PPE is provided; candidates should be comfortable working in these conditions.
