Unit Notes Unit MS/Tele Ortho Region IIPrimary to St Clare Hospital but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region Two: St Joseph Medical Center – Tacoma, WA; St. Elizabeth Hospital – Enumclaw, WA; St. Clare Hospital – Lakewood, WA. Beds 34 Ratios 1:5 Required Certifications BLS Common diagnosis / Types of patients total joints, cardiac rule out, Client, psych, gen surgery post op Experience or 'Must have' skills Nitro, Insulin (may initiate and then transfer), low dose dopamine and dobutamine. Rare on this floor. Would be titratable within a small range. Are RN's required to titrate drips yes, heparin Common titratable &/or set rate drips heparin is weight based Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? yes, and yes Charge Nurse/House Supervisor yes/yes Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios 1;8 max 1:12 RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) cpap, bipap, high flow Shifts & Scheduling Nights, EOW Weekend Requirement every other weekend Holiday Requirement rotate as needed Call or Standby Requirement no Floating Requirements Can float up to Med tele, PCU or ICU to care for MedSurg acuity patients or ER holding. Scrub Color/Dress Code any color professional scrubs Unit/Department Specific Orientation Can test out of Epic if experienced. Will meet with unit educator and then 1 full shift orientation.
