Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting, and audit support functions. Position Purpose The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting, and audit support functions. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Prepare and post journal entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including students' revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payables, and reserves. Prepare weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations. Prepare weekly cash and payments reconciliations. Assist with schedules and journal entries for grant accounting, reporting, and reimbursements. Assist Assistant Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records. Work on projects and respond to requests from other Finance and non-Finance groups on campus. Other reasonable duties as assigned. Qualifications 2-3 years of experience in public or private accounting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. CPA a plus. Workday a plus. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000. The wage/salary will be set based on a variety of factors, including departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
