Back Plant Operator

About the Role As a Back Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations of industrial systems and equipment associated with Covanta’s industrial disposal process. Position Responsibilities Perform assigned operational tasks and inspections utilizing various types of designated industrial equipment and hand/power tools. Complete routine inspections of assigned equipment and document details in accordance with facility procedures. Troubleshoot assigned equipment and responsibly report issues and repair requests utilizing defined work order processes and procedures. Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklist to perform operational and equipment related function checks. Safely perform lock‑out/tag‑out processes of equipment in support of assigned maintenance teams. Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations. Position Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Valid driver’s license. Experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
