This is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity. We are looking for licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) to join our diverse network of contracted providers. Contracting with Rula is free of charge, has no minimum client requirements, and enables you to deliver high-quality patient care while also achieving your income goals. Our mission Rula's mission is to make mental healthcare work for everyone. Experience 1+ years of post-licensure clinical experience as a PMHNP actively managing psychiatric patient panels. Experience must include high-volume/high-acuity assessment, complex psychopharmacology management, direct crisis stabilization, and independent diagnostic decision-making. (Note: RN experience and student clinical rotation hours do not count towards this requirement.) Education & Credentials Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited institution. Active national board certification as a PMHNP through either the ANCC (PMHNP-BC) or AANPCB (PMHNP-C). An unrestricted license and valid DEA number registered in California. Active state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) registration. Compliance with state collaborative agreement requirements (where applicable). Clean Professional Record No adverse actions, disciplinary history, or license restrictions with any state nursing board, hospital, or credentialing body in the past 3 to 5 years. No suspension, exclusion, or debarment from federal healthcare programs (Medicare/Medicaid). Clinical & Technical Competence Proven track record of delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care and safety planning. Comfortable and proficient delivering outpatient care via telehealth (including EMR navigation, virtual rapport building, and remote crisis management). Competitive, Reliable Compensation Base Session Rates: Initial Evaluation (60 min): $110 per completed session Follow-up Visit (30 min): $70 per completed session Integrated Psychotherapy Add-On: +$35 available for eligible follow-up sessions when medically necessary add-on psychotherapy (CPT 90833) is delivered and documented in accordance with clinical guidelines and CMS billing standards. Financial Security & Protection Hassle-Free Bi-Weekly Pay: Direct deposit every two weeks. Rula handles all billing, collections, and claim denials so you are paid reliably for your time. Late Cancellation & No-Show Protection Full compensation for your scheduled time when a confirmed patient late-cancels ( 24 hours notice are excluded). As an independent contractor, the amount of time you allocate to working with Rula is entirely up to you! You will: Provide clinical assessments for patients seeking mental healthcare ,including diagnostic assessments, psychiatric workups, and treatment planning, including medication management Work with individuals who are struggling with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction Have access to our EHR & telehealth platform Receive support from our Support and Care Coordination teams Have adequate time to engage with patients - half-hour sessions for follow-up visits and 1 hour for initial consultations Be free to focus on patient care. Practice support: We manage the administrative side of private practice, including marketing, verifying client insurance benefits, and handling the invoicing/billing process so you can accept insurance without ever interacting with it directly. Further, we have a dedicated Support team so you and your patients have the help you need when you need it. Clinical leadership: Rula's executive team includes a licensed provider engaged in business decisions and planning, ensuring the provider perspective is always included. Fully compliant and ethical: We are fully compliant with HIPAA and have a Medical Records team to handle all releases, audits, or record requests. Our practices align with your professional Code of Ethics and all regulatory requirements.
