Greak Lakes Health and Wellness Center is actively seeking a dedicated and qualified Mental Health Counselor, licensed as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW, to join our compassionate team. This full-time role offers the flexibility of remote work, primarily through telehealth platforms, allowing you to make a substantial impact in the lives of individuals navigating the complexities of recovery from substance use disorders.

Work Environment\n

This role is based remotely, leveraging telehealth technology to connect with clients effectively. As a part of our dedicated team, you will need to be comfortable using digital platforms to conduct assessments, therapies, and follow-ups. While your primary schedule will be Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, some evening hours may be necessary to meet the needs of our clients. This flexible setup allows you to achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering impactful care.

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs, mental health challenges, and goals of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.

  • Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that address individual client’s unique circumstances and objectives.

  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions using approaches like motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, adapting techniques based on client progress and feedback.

  • Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions to foster community and support among clients in their recovery journeys.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to coordinate integrated care for clients.

  • Deliver crisis intervention services in emergencies, providing immediate support and guidance during substance-related crises.
  • \n
  • Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery techniques, available resources, and coping strategies.
  • \n
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes according to legal and ethical guidelines.

  • Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Stay informed about the latest research, trends, and treatment strategies in substance use disorder therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse population of clients, from adolescents to adults, who are both beginning their recovery journey and those who may have experienced setbacks. The work involves understanding the multifaceted nature of addiction and designing supportive treatment pathways that recognize and respect each person's unique background and experiences.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • A valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
  • \n
  • Thorough knowledge of substance use disorders and effective treatment modalities.
  • \n
  • Relevant experience offering individual and group therapy specifically within an addiction recovery context.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental approach toward clients.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in maintaining professional boundaries, adhering to ethical standards, and safeguarding patient confidentiality.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accurate client tracking and documentation.
  • \n
  • Strong collaborative skills, fostering a positive team dynamic and contributing to shared goals.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Prior experience in a telehealth setting is a significant plus, as well as demonstrated skills in using remote therapy tools.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of $115,000–$130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, a sign-on bonus is available for the right candidate. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
