divh2Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant/h2pThe Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant will provide clinical support to physicians including drawing blood, taking patient vitals and facilitating patient flow through the office visit. This role also covers some care management and front desk functions such as check-in, check-out, follow-up appointments, referrals etc./ppJob Responsibilities/pulliResponsible for taking blood samples from patients for medical testing and procedures./liliPreparing and labeling samples for testing, processing, and storage./liliResponsible for taking patient vitals and blood pressure./liliCoordinates the collection of samples/specimens and submission to labs./liliEnsures cleanliness of exam rooms./liliMaintains medical-supply inventories and escalates supply requests./liliEnters clinical patient information into the electronic medical record system. Obtains diagnostic reports or hospital notes for the patients record. Generates after-visit summaries./liliOversees the charting process to ensure that information is updated completely and accurately./liliRegisters patients within the EMR. Completes full registration for new patients and eligibility verification for all appointments/procedures. Resolves registration issues prior to patient appointment to ensure smooth check-in./liliConfirms patient appointments./liliVerifies patient insurance eligibility and obtains necessary pre-authorization numbers, if required, prior to appointment date./liliChecks patients in/out, schedules follow-up appointments and processes referrals./liliAnswers phones, responds to inquiries and triages calls to appropriate personnel./li/ulpQualifications and Skills/pulliMust have at least one (1) year as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Coordinator, or related healthcare experience./liliPhlebotomy certification required./liliDirect patient care experience preferred./liliExperience with eClinicalWorks preferred./liliExperience with multi-tasking./liliExperience in primary, geriatric and specialty care preferred but not necessary./liliApplicant must have the ability to work 10-hour shifts and alternating Sundays./liliBILINGUAL - ENGLISH / SPANISH or ENGLISH / CREOLE is preferred./li/ulpBenefits/pulliCompetitive compensation package including paid time off, medical benefits, and 401(k)/li/ul/div
