Solid Rock Recruiting - #1 Specialty Recruiting Firm in the USA Drywall Project Manager (Union Commercial Construction) Location: Boston, MA Employment Type: Full-Time Solid Rock Recruiting is partnered with a well-established union commercial drywall contractor in the Boston market that is actively hiring a Drywall Project Manager due to continued workload and internal growth. This is an immediate opportunity to join a stable, high-performing contractor working across a diverse range of commercial projects. About the Opportunity The Project Manager will oversee commercial drywall and metal framing projects from award through closeout. The company has recently separated estimating and project management functions , allowing PMs to focus on running projects proactively rather than juggling estimating responsibilities. Projects typically range from tenant fit-outs to large-scale commercial and institutional work , with PMs managing multiple concurrent jobs. Key Responsibilities Manage awarded drywall projects from estimator turnover through completion Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and project documentation Establish, monitor, and control project budgets and financials Price and process change orders and scope changes Coordinate schedules, manpower, and productivity with field leadership Conduct jobsite visits and work closely with foremen and superintendents Track project progress, delays, and schedule impacts Maintain strong communication with GCs, vendors, and internal teams Represent the company professionally throughout the project lifecycle Project Types Union commercial drywall and metal framing Healthcare facilities, labs, and life sciences Colleges and universities Hotels and hospitality renovations Retail, restaurant, and corporate fit-outs Mid- to high-rise commercial buildings (No residential wood-frame work) Qualifications Experience in commercial drywall and metal framing strongly preferred Union project experience preferred 1–2 years as an APM or Project Engineer ready to advance or 3–5 years of experience as a Project Manager Working knowledge of estimating concepts for change orders and pricing Experience with Procore required; OST or similar tools preferred Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Compensation & Growth Competitive base salary (market-aligned; flexible for the right candidate) Long-term growth opportunities as the Project Management team expands Potential future pathway into advanced PM or centralized submittals/purchasing roles Why Consider This Role Immediate need with strong backlog of work Stable contractor with consistent annual volume PMs are expected to run jobs proactively , not just react Supportive leadership investing in systems, structure, and people To be considered: Apply directly or contact Parker at Solid Rock Recruiting for a confidential conversation.
