Dishwasher Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning all dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, and pots/pans, as well as providing support to other areas of the back of house. This position requires a strong sense of urgency, adaptability, and the ability to work efficiently. The Dishwasher represents Miller's Ale House by exhibiting professionalism, attention to detail, and a desire to foster a positive work environment.

Essential Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

• Arrive on time, in full uniform, and ready to work.
• Work directly with team members to ensure all needs are met in a timely manner.
• Maintain proper food handling procedures and ensure sanitation of work areas, complying with food handling requirements.
• Work closely with team members to ensure safety and sanitation protocols are followed according to company standards
• Collect bus tubs and dirty dishes from both front of house and back of house areas.
• Ensure a steady supply of clean dishes, glassware, and utensils for cooks, servers, and bartenders.
• Re-stock areas for easy access by other staff members.
• Provide support to cooks as needed, including occasional station assignments.
• Communicate with fellow team members and management to stay informed and ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including sweeping and mopping when necessary.
• Assist with overall kitchen cleanliness, including taking out trash.
• Complete running and end-of-shift side work, ensuring work areas are stocked and ready for the next Dishwasher.
• Notify management immediately of any potential problems or issues.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Support other back of house functions as needed, ensuring that all areas of the restaurant run smoothly is a shared responsibility among the team.
• Communicate positively with other team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide exceptional service and maintain a positive attitude throughout the entire shift.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the age of hire unless otherwise required by state law.

Physical Demands:

• Remain standing for extended periods of time
• Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting, up to 40 lbs., for short distances
• Ability to work with hot water for most of the shift, and in work areas that have an elevated air temperature.
• Ability to work with varying noise levels
• Frequent communication with managers and team members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
