The unit has the following characteristics:Number of Beds: 20Number of Staff: 40Patient Ratios: 1:4, with charge nurses free of patient care (estimated ratios)Equipment: Vents, Feeding Pumps, IV Pumps, Wound Vacs, Specialty Beds, Suction, Chest TubesEMR: Meditech / CPNThe ideal candidates should have the following qualifications:Required: Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital PCU experienceBLS, ACLS, and NIH certificationsPreferred: Experience with MeditechResponsibilities on the unit include:Placement of chest tubesBedside bronchoscopyManagement of chest tubes, trauma patients, tracheostomies, and suctionThe best candidates will exhibit the following traits:Team player mentalityAble to handle highly acute patient populations and thrive in challenging situationsThis position offers an opportunity to work in a Level 1 trauma center, allowing for encounters with highly complex and interesting patients.
