The Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary civil infrastructure projects involving transportation, site development, water/wastewater infrastructure, roadways, utilities, drainage, permitting, and complex utility coordination.The ideal candidate is a versatile and experienced civil engineer with strong technical and project management skills. This individual will manage projects from inception through completion, provide technical leadership to project teams, coordinate directly with clients and agencies, and mentor junior engineers and designers.ResponsibilitiesServe as Project Manager for civil infrastructure projects involving transportation, site development, and utility improvementsLead the planning, analysis, design, and preparation of contract documents for roadways, site improvements, water and force mains, sanitary and storm sewers, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructureManage projects from inception through completion, including scope, schedule, staffing, budget, quality control, and client coordinationLead roadway and transportation design, including geometry, grading, drainage, utility coordination, and integration with adjacent site improvementsLead site/civil design, including grading, stormwater management, drainage, utilities, erosion control, pavement, and accessProvide design and technical oversight for water main and force main improvements, including alignment, profiles, utility conflicts, crossings, and constructabilityPrepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, contract plans, specifications, quantities, and construction cost estimatesCoordinate permitting and approvals with applicable agencies and utility ownersCoordinate with clients, subconsultants, contractors, agencies, and other engineering disciplinesProvide technical leadership and perform quality reviews of engineering deliverablesMentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designersAssist with proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, schedules, and business development effortsSupport projects during construction, including RFIs, submittals, field issues, and site visitsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)10+ years of successful civil engineering experienceDemonstrated experience in transportation/roadway and site/civil engineeringExperience with water main and/or force main designStrong knowledge of civil engineering design standards, specifications, permitting, and plan productionExperience managing multidisciplinary projects, design teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverablesStrong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work directly with clients, agencies, contractors, and subconsultantsAbility to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyExperience mentoring and developing junior engineering staffPreferred QualificationsExperience with large-diameter or long-distance water/force main projectsExperience with complex utility crossings and coordinationExperience working with public infrastructure clients, including IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, municipalities, and utility agenciesProficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3DExperience with MicroStation and OpenRoads DesignerFamiliarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modelingBenefitsEpstein offers a comprehensive benefits package including:Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and accident insuranceFlexible benefit plansTransportation benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramParental leaveTo help secure our employees' financial future, we offer both a 401(k) plan and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).We also support a healthy work-life balance through:Half-day FridaysFlexible working hoursHybrid work schedulePaid time off and paid holidaysAdditionally, we encourage professional growth through:Professional license reimbursementIndustry association reimbursementInternal training programsLeadership development programsEducational assistanceCompensationIndividual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location.
