The Senior IT Operations Engineer – Trader Support is one of the senior technicians in their respective regions, is a ‘go-to’ resource among the team (floor lead), will take on focal point responsibilities by leading and/or coordinating small project efforts, and will help to mentor new team members during on-boarding and beyond. This role is expected to provide natural leadership amongst peers, assist the Trader Support Regional Lead and/or Senior Analyst with special projects for local or global initiatives and to maintain operational effectiveness within a high-pressure and demanding environment. Trader Support provides dedicated in-person (‘on the floor’) business proximate IT support to Traders and Front Office Commercial staff, workers with real-time impacts to the trading business. The team serves as a first point of contact for all Trading IT issues, of which includes standard desktop services and general triage for enterprise and application services for their designated locations and remote sites at times. Accountabilities:Provide effective IT floor support to resolve immediate operation issues to minimise impact; 1st level troubleshooting; Windows OS, PC, network, Microsoft Office (M365 suite), Exchange and Active Directory, trading specific packages, external information services, online trading platforms, bespoke trading applicationsAct as focal point/ ‘go-to’ resource at local siteMentor and onboard responsibilities for new permanent and contract staff at local siteMaintain good working relationship with stakeholders such as the Trading business users, IT Service Desk and partners, vendors, and IT managementWork collaboratively within Shell IT (i.e., Service Assurance team, Enterprise Services and Application Operations) to coordinate effective resolutions to operational issuesEnsure all required security, compliance and equipment demand processes and procedures are followedFacilitate local deployment of software and hardware rollouts, as requiredProvide support during the regional annual Business Continuity testsBalancing satisfying user requests while adhering to the IT policies and processesApply technical acumen towards continuous improvements to processes and tools both inside the team and to support the businessCollaborate effectively and foster a strong team mindsetWhat you bring Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field, or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 5 years of desktop or infrastructure support experience preferably in End-User environmentStrong technical knowledge of industry standard PC technologies and the Trading user desktop environment is a plusExperience with call-logging systems, such as ServiceNow, is a plusStrong knowledge of Windows Operating systemsStrong knowledge of MS Office products (M365), Exchange, Active DirectoryAwareness of market data feed services (i.e., Reuters, Bloomberg ICE, MarketView) is a plusKnowledge of development tools (i.e., Excel, VBA, Java, MS Power Platform) is a plusKnowledge of support, troubleshooting processes and ITIL certification a plus Affinity with both technology and business processesAbility to deal with business and IT management at all levelsAbility to prioritise in a demanding environment with multiple deliverablesExcellent customer-facing, interpersonal skillsMust be a self-starter, reliable and able to work with minimum supervisionDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and trade floor experience. What we offerThe base salary range for this position is $103,000 - $155,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.
