As a Maintenance Tech II, you are responsible for:The Calibration Technician II will calibrate, troubleshoot and repair equipment in accordance with customer/process requirements on instruments and equipment used across Gilead La Verne site.Key ResponsibilitiesThe following are the key responsibilities for this role:Manage contracted technicians.Perform planning/scheduling for routine and on-demand calibrations/repairs.Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate instruments and equipment.Open/Investigate Deviations and Out of Tolerance events.Revise calibration job plans and data sheets, as needed.Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner and with a quality mindset.Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, safety requirements, training requirements and cGMPs.Work in a highly productive and efficient manner.Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key stakeholders.Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely.Identify waste, workflow interrupters, safety and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assisting with implementation.Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance.Assists in maintaining laboratory and performs other duties as assigned.Responsible for planning, installing, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation/control systems used in manufacturing and support departments.Review and approve calibration work orders to ensure work is performed to SOP requirements.Procures spare parts, special equipment, contracts, documentation and equipment availability for work execution.Provide work order review/closure in a timely manner to ensure continued compliance.Train technicians, as needed, to ensure department maintains high level of training readiness.Perform calibrations on Temperature, Pressure, Analytical (pH/Conductivity), Electrical, Physical/Dimensional, Mass/Weight, Flow, Force, Velocity, Time/Frequency and Gas detector instrumentation.Performs calibrations for in lab and onsite locations following prescribed procedures.Understands basic uncertainty contributor and standard deviation calculations.Records data gathered during calibration within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).Identifies and utilizes appropriate measurement procedures. Generates certificates of calibration and/or out of tolerance reports as required and in correct media appropriate to meet customer requirements.May perform other duties as assigned/requested.Maintains secondary or intrinsic and/or working calibration standards.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Basic QualificationsThe following are the basic qualifications for this role:High School Diploma and Five (5) Years relevant experience.Experience with calibrations and instrument troubleshooting in a regulated environment (GMP, ISO, etc).Work experience in instrumentation and control, installing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing equipment or related equivalent.Preferred QualificationsThe following are the preferred qualifications for this role:Associate's Degree and Four (4) Years' Experience.Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) experience.Strong computer skills, CMMS Blue Mountain and Maximo experience.Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing.Understanding of control systems and PLC logic.The salary range for this position is: $80,325.00 - $103,950.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
