Support a student’s educational journey by providing dedicated, one-on-one assistance as an ASL interpreter paraprofessional in a vibrant high school setting. This immediate opportunity is ideal for a skilled paraprofessional fluent in American Sign Language, passionate about fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments.

This contract role involves supporting a student throughout their full school day, from 7:15am to 2:15pm. Your expertise will help bridge communication gaps, ensuring equal access to curriculum and classroom activities, and enabling the student’s active participation in all aspects of their education.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
• Prior experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school settings
• Confidence in providing 1:1 support to students with unique learning needs
• Strong understanding of confidentiality and commitment to student privacy
• Collaborative spirit to work alongside educators, students, and families
• Flexibility, reliability, and a positive, supportive attitude

Role Responsibilities:

• Offer accurate real-time ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, discussions, and activities
• Assist the student with access to learning materials, instructions, and social interactions
• Adapt interpretations for different academic subjects and age-appropriate content
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate student progress with educational teams
• Ensure an inclusive, respectful, and empowering classroom presence
