Project Manager/ Designer

About the Role The Project Manager/Designer is responsible for developing creative, functional, and client‑focused furniture solutions for K–12 schools, higher education, and public and private organizations. This role blends interior design, space planning, project coordination, and client relationship management to deliver successful commercial furniture projects from concept through installation. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Designer, Project Executive, clients, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure projects are accurately designed, specified, ordered, and completed on schedule—while maintaining exceptional communication and customer service. Key Responsibilities Meet with clients to assess project goals, scope, and furniture needs Develop design concepts, layouts, and presentation drawings (AutoCAD required) Prepare furniture specifications, finish selections, and product recommendations Create quotations, purchase orders, and project documentation (lookbooks, punch lists, delivery schedules) Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to obtain pricing, product details, and lead times Track order status, shipping schedules, and delivery dates Conduct client meetings and job site visits throughout the project lifecycle Review project details with Senior Designer / Project Executive prior to order release Monitor project schedules, deliveries, and installation progress Resolve project issues and product discrepancies promptly Maintain clear communication with clients, manufacturers, vendors, and internal leadership Support project closeout, punch list completion, and warranty follow‑up Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field Minimum 2 years of experience in a related design or commercial furniture role Strong space planning, furniture specification, and presentation skills Experience preparing quotations and purchase orders Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, and Canva Excellent organizational, communication, and client service skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Knowledge of commercial furniture products and manufacturers preferred $55,000–$60,000 annually, depending on experience.
