Traveling Emergency Veterinarian

Description Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking Emergency Veterinarians to join our team as Traveling Emergency Veterinarians. The Travel ER veterinarian role combines flexibility and travel options of an independent relief veterinarian with the stability and safety of a full‑time position, providing industry‑leading benefits. Qualifications 3 or more years of ER experience or ER Internship trained + 1–2 years of ER experience. Specialty/Emergency hospital experience required. Surgical experience and skills required. Hours of Work Full‑time position: Minimum 9 shifts per 4 weeks to qualify for full‑time benefits, PTO, and discretionary funds. The lowest shift minimum in the industry is for full‑time benefits. Part‑time position: Minimum 3 shifts per 4 weeks for part‑time benefits with travel coverage. Shifts below the full‑time requirement are optional and have limited benefits defined case‑by‑case. Scheduling Shifts are managed through our online scheduling platform, Jobs Unleashed. Travel ER veterinarians have first pick of shifts and direct control of scheduling following guidelines set by the team manager regarding focus hospitals, regions, and/or shift types. Any shifts that exceed the agreed‑upon minimum are optional and compensated per the model below. Compensation Competitive compensation. Shift/Pro Model (above industry ER production %). Typical earnings range from $200,000 annually to $300,000+ annually. Benefits 401K + match. Discretionary fund of $5,000/year. 120 hours PTO (equivalent to 4 weeks) with no impact on production plus 2 additional days for continuing education.
