Job Title: School Social Worker

Location: Thornton, CO

Duration: 39 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: 5x8 Hours

Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Travel Gross Weekly: $2,200 – $2,400/week (Based on Experience)

Local Rate: $48 – $53/hour (Based on Experience)

We are seeking a qualified School Social Worker for a full-time, 39-week assignment at a high school campus in Thornton, Colorado. The position provides mental health and social-emotional support to students and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to support students receiving special education services.

• Provide school-based social work and mental health services to high school students.
• Support students with varying levels of behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Provide mental health services as outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of student support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, special education staff, counselors, families, and other professionals.
• Conduct student assessments and identify social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
• Provide individual and/or group interventions as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, assessments, and student progress.
• Support students with mild-to-moderate needs, Affective Needs, and Significant Support Needs.
• Adjust services and interventions based on student needs and campus requirements.
• Maintain compliance with school district and Colorado Department of Education requirements.

• Caseload and service minutes will vary by campus.
• Candidates may serve students across multiple support levels.
• Experience supporting Special Education (SPED) students is preferred.

Licensure:

• School Social Worker License issued by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) – must be active and in hand.

Experience:

• School-based social work experience preferred.
• Special Education (SPED) experience preferred.
• Experience providing mental health services to students is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with students with behavioral and/or emotional needs is beneficial.

• Strong understanding of school-based mental health services.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and special education environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and case-management skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage an assigned caseload.
