Sierra Ready Mix is hiring a Diesel Mechanic at our plant in Las Vegas, NV. Mechanics are responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engines on heavy trucks according to industry standards and factory specifications, as well as assisting with concrete plant repairs. If you are passionate about your chosen profession and enjoy working with your hands, then we have the career path for your success!Essential FunctionsInspect equipment for mechanical defects and safety issues and participate in the approval of those projectsPerform repairs using proper tools and techniquesTroubleshoot issues further if necessaryDocument work performed onsite and submit progress reportsEnsure on-time deliveries of work completedEnsure compliance with all health and safety regulations at all timesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe working environmentWork overtime when required, ensuring work is completed on timeComply with all company policies and proceduresPosition Requirements2+ years’ experience as heavy/medium diesel truck technicianCertifications: MX, Cummins, CAT, Kenworth, PACCARAble to work a Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday shift, weeklyAbility to travel to other locations to assist with truck/plant repairAbility to read and comprehend instructions and informationManual dexterity and good judgementAbility to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safelyAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.; maneuver in/out and around/under trucksThis is a full-time, benefits eligible position.
