In this hands-on role, you'll focus on leading the integrated efforts to deliver standards for NASA's ongoing operations on the International Space Station (ISS) and the Artemis program, which is ushering in a new era of lunar exploration and preparing for human missions to MarsKey ResponsibilitiesWork with the customer, users, and engineers to effectively analyze user requirements, user stories, and operations conceptsPerform high level requirement assessments and facilitate the detailed assessments performed by the MOSSI technical organizationsDevelop and maintain schedules for work componentsCreate and/or update all documentation for design and change instruments where attention to detail is emphasizedPerform post data processing, post data reduction, and data miningCreate vendor specifications for required hardware and storage hardware and systems. Review vendor quotes to ensure that they address the specific vendor specificationsPerform analysis, assessments, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsLead systems architecture design and integration effortsProvide systems engineering support to the MOSSI implementation organizationsCommunicate inward to the MOSSI organization and outward to customer contactsWork effectively in a team setting to collaborate ideasWork effectively with the NASA customer, users, and commercial and international partners to capture and negotiate requirements, user stories and operations concepts and then drive those change requests through the systems engineering lifecycleQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred); equivalent professional experience accepted.6+ years of hands-on experienceProven expertise in technical requirements management and standards development for space data systems.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating clear documentation, processes, and procedures.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to support technical discussions and documentation.U.S. citizenship or eligibility to obtain required clearances for NASA/government-related projects (preferred).Preferred SkillsExperience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, or mission-critical IT operations with focus on security and compliance standards.Enthusiasm for space exploration and contributing to NASA's groundbreaking missions.We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, ongoing training opportunities, and the privilege of supporting technology that powers humanity's journey to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
