Our focus on our people, culture and capabilities allows us to make a difference for our clients and the communities we serve.Your Key ResponsibilitiesReview design documents, shop drawings, and trade submittals prepared by third parties for conformance with good building practice with respect to water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, thermal performance and differential movementUndertake field review of both new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm that the construction of the building envelope assemblies is proceeding per approved mock-ups and design documentPrepare site visit reports and use this database to generate Action Lists of outstanding deficiencies and track their resolutionUndertake field testing of selected elements of building envelope assemblies to confirm compliance with specified performance standards (primarily water infiltration and air leakage) and prepare reports outlining the results of these testsInterface with architects, general contractors and sub-tradesDirect Building Envelope design and construction document developmentPerform forensic analysis of building envelope failuresConduct presentations to competing interests including working with legal professionals, contractors and consultantsDirect field work associated with the assessment of existing buildings and the preparation of building envelope assessment reportsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExcellent computer skills with Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of Bluebeam, CAD and/or Revit, Sketchup, and BIM 360 is a plusProject Management skills necessary for concurrent multiple projectsPractical knowledge of energy code, rain screen principles, air barriers and thermal performanceAbility to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitmentPosition requires travelMust have a valid driver's license and a clean MVR.Education and ExperienceMinimum 8 years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing and or constructing building envelope systemsHighschool Diploma is requiredThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec offers a hybrid home/office work environment, and expects team members in the office at least 3 days a week or more for all-staff meetings, project-related team work sessions, client meetings, and employee engagement functions etc.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
