The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is looking to fill a full time Trauma Therapist position at the REACH Center.

The REACH Center provides comprehensive, trauma-informed services to survivors of crime, assault, and abuse. The program offers free and confidential support, including a 24-hour emergency helpline, advocacy, crisis counseling, therapy, and assistance with Crime Victim Compensation. Services are available to individuals impacted by sexual assault, interpersonal violence, child abuse, elder abuse, stalking, harassment, physical assault, and human trafficking.

Licensed Mental Health providers and trained counselors provide assistance to survivors in completing applications for the New York State Office of Victim Services (NYS OVS) Crime Victims Compensation Program. This includes offering guidance and support throughout the application process to help eligible individuals access financial assistance and reimbursement for crime-related expenses.

Position Type: Full Time-40 Hours/Exempt 

Pay Range: $62,500.00- $64,000.00 annually

Work Location: Hudson, NY 12534 and Catskill, NY 12401

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm with some evenings based on program needs and hotline coverage 

Job Duties:

• Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy in individual and group settings, as well as through phone and written correspondence. 

• Deliver crisis intervention services via phone or in person. 

• Conduct client intake and ongoing assessments using standardized measurement and assessment tools. 

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, service logs, and related documentation. 

• Support clients with compensation applications. 
• Provide clinical expertise to crisis hot-line volunteers and 24-hour crisis hot-line support.

• Maintain a caseload of 30 clients. 
• Respond to client-related calls and correspondence to support treatment, provide personal advocacy, and offer medical and legal advocacy. 
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferencing to ensure coordinated services. 
• Make referrals to enhance client safety, healing, and support. 
• Assist with and provide advocacy as needed. 
• Assist with outreach events to increase awareness, engagement, and access to services. 
• Participate in community activities to engage underserved and hard-to-reach populations. 
• Work in partnership with community agencies, multidisciplinary teams, and service providers to ensure comprehensive support for victims and their families. 
• Provide consultation and clinical support to non-clinical staff delivering direct services. 
• Participate in required training, clinical supervision, and peer supervision to strengthen therapeutic skills and support provision of quality services. 

Requirements

• Must have a Master’s degree and licensure in a mental health field.  
• Must have strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in written communication, public speaking, smartphones, and computer systems.
• Must understand HIPPA privacy laws.
