Quality Technician

Base pay range $20.00/hr - $21.00/hr 12 hour shift, 2nd Shift: 5:00 PM-5:30 AM; Sunday-Thursday. 1st Shift role: 5AM-5:30PM; Monday-Friday Responsibilities Perform quality checks on raw and processed cottonseed to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications. Conduct plant monitoring tests including truck sampling, sample de-linting, acid percentage, dryer and buffer temperature checks, bushel weight, pH, seed count, and tare analysis. Inspect packaged finished products to verify labeling, bag integrity, and adherence to quality standards. Calibrate and maintain testing and weighing equipment such as scales, temperature probes, pH meters, and seed counters. Record and maintain accurate data in the Plant Monitoring Spreadsheet and report any deviations or quality issues to the Quality Control Lead. Assist with variety cleanouts and ensure equipment and work areas are properly cleaned and sanitized per SOPs and Work Instructions. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and safety guidelines while working near industrial equipment (e.g., delinter, dryers, conveyors, baggers). Utilize laboratory tools and materials such as beakers, distilled water, buffers, and bushel weight apparatus for testing and analysis. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all PPE and safety requirements. Collaborate with plant and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and consistent quality output.
