Gas Locate Technician

Our Advanced Gas Operations (AGO) division provides dedicated service to our gas customers. Compensation $20.00 Hourly Responsibilities Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure. Some hand digging to unearth gas lines may be required. Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure. Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines. As a technician in the Advanced Gas Operations division, you may locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending upon the project to which you are assigned. Schedule These are daytime, full‑time positions. You must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call shifts (including nights and weekends) as needed. A 48‑hour turnaround time on many locates means we generally work the day after holidays and some weekends. Benefits 100% paid training – Starting on your first day. Requirements Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; previous outdoor experience is a plus. Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed. Ability to travel locally during business day; occasional out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be expected. Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety‑sensitive position). Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain, bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs. Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities. Computer proficiency. Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances. Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners; customer service experience is a plus. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
