Production Area Manager

Location 500 19th St,Decatur, AL, 35601,United States Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Hyosung USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyosung Corporation, manufactures tire cord fabric which is sold to tire manufactures globally. Hyosung USAalso manufactures fabric for mechanical rubber goods and other various product lines. Hyosung USA also manufactures Automotive Floor Carpet, the material that covers the entire floor surface of the car's interior. The Decatur, Alabama plant is one of many manufacturing facilities owned by the Hyosung Corporation. Position Summary Directs production distribution and maintenance operations to maximize production quality, safety and cost reduction within a designated area of the business center General Qualifications Education/Knowledge: High school graduate College education preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Interpersonal communication skills Experience (required and preferred): 5 years experience in manufacturing production at supervisor/manager level Textile Plant experience in quality, safety, manufacturing or technology Problem solver by analyzing data and systems implementation Worked in union environment Skills (required and preferred): Fabric Technology Get tasks accomplished through team building Conflict resolution Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced environment Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Manual dexterity is necessary. Ability to climb stairs as needed. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. May be required to work in hot/cold environments. Essential Functions Direct, assign and coordinate work activities for the team in a specific work area Enforce all company guidelines and policies Address associate performance issues as needed Maintain safe and clean department Meet weekly, monthly and annual goals of the department for safety, quality, waste, productivity etc. Listen to and develop associates when required Resolve employee issues as needed which includes meeting with union officials without going through the grievance procedures Answer First Step Grievance when necessary. Resolve issues without having to go through Grievance procedure. Ensure all operators are properly trained in the correct methods of the job May be required to communicate with customers to ensure product quality and delivery Additional Responsibilities Assist with monthly inventories Attend all required training to enhance personal skills Performs other duties as required An acknowledgement that will be signed by the manager and the employee will be added to each description. #J-18808-Ljbffr Kids for the Future
