About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years required License: None required Certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience required Experience in sterilization, decontamination and assembly/wrap required First-timers not accepted Description: The Sterile Processing Tech will work the mid shift, which operates from 15:00 to 23:30, Monday through Friday. This position includes a holiday rotation. The clinician may float within the scope to meet facility needs. Floating to sister facilities may be required. Experience working with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and gynecological cases is preferred. Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience. National certifications in CBSPD and/or HSPA are required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is not required. Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should confirm their availability during this season from June through November. Approval for time off must be provided at the time of submission, with no exceptions allowed after the contract is signed. This role may involve the use of specific skills, including but not limited to immediate-use steam sterilization, high-level disinfection, and proper selection of wrapping materials. Compliance with local regulations is necessary for this role. Candidates without an active South Carolina license should provide proof of application for licensure.
