Health Information Specialist I Datavant is a data collaboration platform that partners with providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies to make healthcare data secure, accessible, and actionable. As a member of our driven and collaborative team, you will help empower innovation in healthcare by ensuring patient information is managed and disseminated in a compliant and secure manner. You will: Work Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM EST. Receive and process patient health information requests in accordance with company and facility policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged information. Keep up‑to‑date working knowledge of company and facility software. Adhere to the company’s and customer facilities’ Code of Conduct and policies. Notify your manager of work status, site difficulties, and changing volumes. Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as needed. Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosure. Manage patient health records and safeguard them to meet HIPAA standards. Prepare new patient charts by gathering documents and information from paper or electronic health records. Assemble medical records in standard order, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Create digital images of paper documents for the electronic medical record. Respond to patient record requests from within the facility and external sources. Answer inbound and outbound calls and assist with patient walk‑ins as required. Handle administrative duties such as faxes, mail opening, and data entry. Meet productivity expectations outlined for the specific site. SCHEDULE pick‑ups when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. What you will bring to the table: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum age 18 years. Ability to commute between locations as needed. Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when required. Basic computer proficiency. Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment. Professional verbal and written communication skills in English. Bonus points if: Experience in a healthcare environment. Prior production or metric‑based work experience. In‑person customer service experience. Ability to build relationships with on‑site clients and customers. Comfortable proposing new ideas, process‑improvement suggestions, and providing feedback to stakeholders. Pay Estimated base pay range: $15 – $18.32 per hour. Vaccination and Health Screening Clients may require post‑offer health screenings and proof of vaccinations.
