• Weekly Estimated Pay: $9,010 - $9,500 (locum tenens pay)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (7/13/2026 - 10/10/2026)
• Shift: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts preferred; 32 hours per week
• Location: Henrico, VA 23229 (Richmond, Virginia suburb)
• OR Capacity: 22 anesthesia rooms
• MD:CRNA Ratio: 1:4 (MD supervises CRNAs; no independent CRNA-only cases required)
• Charting / EMR: iPro

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited college of medicine
• ECFMG and FLEX certification (as applicable)
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Current and unrestricted physician license (Virginia license required or willingness to obtain)
• Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology preferred
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in anesthesia practice (general anesthesia experience preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide medical management for patients rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and procedures
• Pre-anesthesia evaluation, patient consent verification, and discussion of anesthetic options and risks
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia for general anesthesia cases
• Continuous intraoperative physiologic monitoring and timely clinical interventions
• Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department
• Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs and perioperative staff (MD supervision model)
• Document care using the site charting system (iPro) and adhere to institutional policies
