Job Summary:

The Warehouser/Driver performs warehousing and transportation functions on a daily basis to support the ongoing operation of the agency. Warehouse activities include receiving, stocking, and distributing supplies in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. Transportation includes transporting children and families to and from school as a substitute driver and/or for planned field trips. In addition, the Warehouser Driver completes planned activities in support of vehicle maintenance repairs for issued vehicles and for the agency travel fleet. The Warehouser Driver completes a variety of tasks assigned through the Work Request System including special pick up and/or delivery of supplies to conference locations, movement of items from administration to 3rd party storage, or replenishment of copy paper supplies, janitorial supplies, or items for the staff lounge. The Warehouser Driver must be able to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven, customer focused environment and demonstrate a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and be flexible to changing situations.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School or GED
• One to three (1-3) years experience providing customer service and/or office administrative setting
• Must be 18 years old.
• Submit a current AZ Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to start date.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Possess a valid driver's license issued within the continental United States.
• 3-year driving history (from the state that issued the driver's license) must be clear of any citations.
• Must complete the "agency paid" Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration training to obtain a Commercial Driver's License within 30 days of hire. The Agency will allow a maximum of three attempts to successfully pass the required written tests.
• Must obtain "agency paid" Class C Commercial Driver's License with school bus and passenger endorsement within 45 days of hire.
• Meet all physical, mental, vision, or any other requirements established under AZ law, BCCL, OHS, and FMCSA. ADA required. Accommodations will be considered and applied where reasonable and without creating undue hardship to the agency. These requirements must be met at the time of hire and throughout employment with the agency.

Other Requirements (post hire)

• Must be able to travel to and from various sites as needed.
• Must be able to travel outside assigned area in company-owned vehicle. This travel could begin before daylight hours and continue after sundown in some situations.
• Provide proof of immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Tdap (adult Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), and a clear Tuberculosis Self-Assessment.
• Ability to maintain a valid level fingerprint clearance card and annual DES Centralized Background Check.
• Complete and pass random drug testing at various times throughout each program year.
• Must be able to prove the right to work in the USA by providing appropriate documents to complete the Federal I-9 form

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum three (3) years' warehouse or supply distribution experience.
• Class C CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement from the state of Arizona.
• Read, write, and speak in Spanish.
• Experience working with children.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently

• Stoop, bend, kneel.
• Lift up to 30 lbs (load and unload supplies from dolly, vehicle).
• Push, pull, move boxes, pallets, materials, dollies.
• Reach and stretch.
• Climb on step stool or ladder.
• Work with tools that may be sharp or heavy (box cutter, dolly, lift, pallet jack).
• Operate forklift.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Physical Resources Responsibilities:

• Implement day-to-day warehouse and distribution systems in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy
• Receive supplies from vendors and implement the agency's receipt of goods system to ensure items are uploaded into the Procurement/Fiscal database. Submit associated paperwork to Fiscal for processing
• Move received supplies to stocking areas and shelves according to warehouse organization
• Pull supplies, materials, and equipment from supply shelves according to approved picking sheet and box and label for distribution
• Load and unload supplies, materials, and equipment for delivery to staff within administration or at remote locations
• Use assigned vehicles to distribute supplies, materials, and equipment to and from centers. Ensure accurate, effective, and efficient delivery route. Adjust route as necessary to avoid hazards and to maintain delivery schedule. Report any adjustments to the delivery route to the PR Manager and to site supervisors as necessary
• Maintain warehouse in clean, organized, and safe manner. Label storage areas for quick identification of supplies, materials, and equipment
• Assist center staff and drivers in loading and unloading supplies when necessary
• Perform daily property evaluation upon arrival and remove trash and other unsightly items from the property. Report any dangerous items or situations to direct supervisor immediately. This work is done on a rotating schedule with other warehouse staff.

Child Transportation:

• Review, understand and implement transportation procedures including pre and post trip inspections, sign in sign out procedures, final walk through of bus after all children have exited the bus
• Transport children and/or parents to and from the center and other Head Start-related activities in a safe manner following the planned routes. Maintain consistent arrival and departure times on bus runs.
