CEO pays for a Velvet Taco tattoo if you’re inclined to get one Job Responsibilities Manage the Hourly Team Members and interact with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way Execute opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines Handle Guest concerns and guide them toward a positive resolution Handle cash, set up POS drawers, perform comps and voids, and manage deposits during the shift Present self as a leader among the Team Members, motivating others to follow procedures and ensure a positive Guest experience De‑escalate issues between Team Members, making everyone feel heard Support Management with the inventory process Prioritize food safety by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean Manage the daily prep list and sign off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to specifications and flavor profiles Model a safe environment by enforcing use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing obstacles that impede work or dining spaces Communicate and deliver a friendly, welcoming, exceptional Guest experience Embrace feedback, learn eagerly, and take accountability for actions Operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage time efficiently Be comfortable in all areas of the restaurant related to culinary, hospitality, and Guest interaction Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older 2 years of experience as a Shift Leader/Supervisor in a Restaurant Environment Experience leading and developing teams to drive awareness and sales Self‑starter with strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities Strong drive to create high‑quality work environments and deliver best‑in‑class results Strong collaborative leadership skills enabling effective relationships Knowledge of culinary, hospitality, and Guest interaction processes Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Comfortable with frequent multitasking in a fluctuating, fast‑paced environment Regular exposure to heat and/or humid conditions Ability to stand for prolonged periods, kneel occasionally, and lift up to 25 pounds Ability to handle stressful situations with compassion, composure, and professionalism Possess a Food Handler’s Certification and be comfortable working around food Possess an Alcoholic Beverage Service Certification and comply with all regulations Close, distance, and peripheral vision are required Dexterity to handle tongs, pots, pans, and other equipment Necessities Must be 21 years of age or older 2 years of experience as a Shift Leader/Supervisor in a Restaurant Environment Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on Restaurant needs Regularly exposed to heat and/or humid conditions Lunch and dinner rushes require constant multitasking in a fluctuating, fast‑paced work environment Allergen exposure to wheat, nuts, gluten, soy, and milk products on a regular basis Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time Kneeling occasionally to reach low storage and refrigeration Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis Ability to handle stressful situations with compassion, composure, and professionalism Possesses a Food Handler’s Certification and is comfortable working around food Possesses an Alcoholic Beverage Service Certification and complies with all regulations Close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision are required Must possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment EEO Statement At Velvet Taco, we celebrate individuality!
